Denise grew up in Texas her whole life and has always told herself she wanted more out of life; to see new places, meet new people, and to live life to the fullest.

However life took a different turn; she got married young at 19 and had a beautiful little boy, Landon. She moved to Tennessee with her husband at the time and continued going to school at Tennessee Tech University where she majored in elementary education. Her entire life she has worked with kids and knew she wanted to be a teacher. Unfortunately due to circumstance, she is currently separated from her husband.

Continuing with a fresh start, Denise had a couple of locations to go from there, but everything led her to Anchorage, AK. She applied to work at KNOM not knowing what to expect. Her original plan was to work at an elementary school to gain more experience before she graduated from college, but KNOM felt more like home, so went with her gut instincts, and doesn’t regret it at all. She plans to enroll at the University of Alaska Anchorage where she’ll finish her degree not only for herself, but for her mom and little one. She hopes to grow at KNOM and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store.

Denise’s dream is to finish school, buy a small camper and teach online so she can continue exploring Alaska. She wants to show her son a different side of the world; for him to have endless possibilities and adventures. She wants him to live life to the fullest, which is why she works hard, so she can bring him soon and can continue their journey together.

On her spare time Denise enjoys hiking, exploring new places, and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys reading poetry and writing. She would love to publish a children’s book someday and dedicate it to her son. Everything she does in life is for her son.
