“YOURS FOR WESTERN ALASKA”

(907) 443-5221

Dear Friend… (November 2022)

Thank you for being friends when it counts. This month, we write you with serious and heavy hearts. Our region has been dealt a major blow. The heaviest storm in seventy years has caused massive damage all along the Northwest Coast.

While no lives were lost, the devastation reverses years of hard work in the region: seawalls that have taken decades of investment to construct, and camps and homes that have been created over many generations, are gone. The land, which brings many physical and spiritual gifts, is changed forever. Still, people remain hopeful, grateful and resilient.

In trying times, Western Alaska relies on good friends. We truly could not do this alone. Thank you for making KNOM your mission!
