“YOURS FOR WESTERN ALASKA”

(907) 443-5221

“Dear Friend…” (April 2021)

Speaking about something that is difficult to share and being taken seriously by others is deeply healing. Sharing teaches us we are not alone.

When KNOM’s reporters – often new to Western Alaska – request an interview, it requires courage and trust to say yes. That is especially true when sharing personal stories dear to one’s heart. It is an honor for KNOM to be entrusted with those stories.

Western Alaskans use radio to create conversations in their community. It fits the traditional approach of speaking, listening, and reaching consensus before embarking on the clear new path – together.

Thank you for creating a place where it is safe to speak with honesty, vulnerability, and courage for the benefit of our neighbors.
