Missing Nome Siblings Are Located and Found Safe

UPDATE: Two minors who were reported missing to the Nome Police Department last night have been located and found safe. Police reported to KNOM late this afternoon that 13 year-old Cheryl Kokuluk [and 12 year-old John “Iggy” Kokuluk] Jr. are safe and reunited with their parents

ORIGINAL STORY: Two minors in Nome are allegedly missing and the Nome Police Department is asking the public for assistance in locating them. Both 12 year-old  John “Iggy” Kokuluk Jr. and 13 year-old Cheryl Kokuluk were allegedly last seen yesterday, that’s according to a Thursday morning social media post from NPD. 

John’s last known location was the Subway sandwich shop in Nome at 8:40pm Wednesday. He was wearing black pants with white stripes on them along with a black coat. Cheryl was last reported to be seen at 704 East 3rd Street at 4:00am Wednesday. She was allegedly wearing a black coat and black sweatpants. 

The minors were reported missing by their father when they did not return home last night. Police have released no additional identifying information about the physical description of the two. Deputy Chief Bob Pruckner reported that no foul play is suspected at this time. 

Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of John “Iggy” Kokuluk Jr. or Cheryl Kokuluk is asked to please call the Nome Police Department at 443-5262.
