“YOURS FOR WESTERN ALASKA”

(907) 443-5221

From the GM’s Desk (June, 2020)

Western Alaska has been actively participating in an unprecedented time in history. Communities are continuing to come together in unique ways to meet the ever-changing needs of the region.

One example brought the Nome-Beltz High School graduation ceremony to families and students live on KNOM’s airwaves, thanks to the collaboration of teachers and staff. KNOM’s Program Assistant, Karen Trop, shared music and family messages as cars paraded through town to the high school, where the live radio broadcast of the ceremony was enjoyed safely.

It’s moments like this where the power of radio stands the test of time. Thank you for making the mission of KNOM Radio possible.
