Story49: Nome Brothers Summit Denali

Two young men stand smiling in front of a grey building on a sunny, summer day

Oliver and Wilson Hoogendorn, two Nome brothers, were the first to summit Mount Denali this year.

Back at the end of high school, the two made a pact to climb up and ski down North America’s tallest peak. After a failed attempt last year, they finally made it to the top in 2019.

What does the world look like from the top of Mount Denali? Luckily, you don’t have to be a mountaineer to find out.

In this episode of Story49, we talk about their climb up the mountain, focusing on some of the scariest and most memorable moments from the Hoogendorns’ ascent.
