FY ’20 Budget Leads Docket for June 10 Council Meeting

Papers in Nome City Council chambers

It’s time for Nome to set a budget for Fiscal Year 2020. The budget is up for final reading during tonight’s City Council meeting.

Otherwise, it is a fairly short agenda for the Council. They will discuss an ordinance clarifying how to address each other. While many have begun to use “councilmember” rather than “councilman,” that isn’t official Council policy. An ordinance discussed tonight would have all members of the Council called “councilmember.”

The Council will also discuss granting a permit to the Nome Sportsmen Association so that they may continue to operate the Sunset Firing Range. That will go through first reading tonight.

A work session will begin at 5:30 with the regular meeting at 7:00 at City Hall in Nome.
