Search-and-rescue teams successfully located a missing boat out of Alakanuk on Saturday.

According to an Alaska State Troopers (AST) dispatch posted online, on Saturday morning at around 9:45 am, troopers received a report of an overdue boater out of the Yukon Delta community.

The report indicated that two adults and four children had left on the boat on Friday afternoon at around 3:00 pm and had been expected to return Friday night.

According to troopers, AST and the U.S. Coast Guard conducted an aerial survey and located the boat about 13 miles offshore. It appeared to be disabled.

Troopers say two boats were launched out of Alakanuk to retrieve the disabled vessel, and all six individuals were reported to be brought back unharmed.
