Alaska State Troopers (AST) have arrested Emmonak resident Michael Redfox after he escaped from custody in early March.

According to a Trooper dispatch, 27-year-old Redfox was found and taken back into custody around 9 a.m. on March 27th.

AST public information officer Megan Peters says Redfox was about to turn himself in when Troopers arrested him near the Emmonak Trooper post.

Redfox was originally arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. He was arraigned in superior court on Tuesday, under four charges of assault in the first, second, third and fourth degrees, and one charge of escape in the second degree.

An omnibus hearing for Redfox is scheduled for May 23rd at the Bethel courthouse.
