Two residents of Pilot Station passed away from natural causes over the past couple weeks.

In two unrelated death investigation cases, Alaska State Troopers from St. Mary’s found that 41-year-old Teddy Heckman and 76-year-old Mary Wassillie died in the middle of the night.

According to Troopers, Heckman passed away sometime in the early morning hours on January 26th due to natural causes. On Friday (Feb 2nd), Troopers also responded to a report that Wassillie had died sometime during the night. Troopers say the cause of death was natural causes.

Both Heckman and Wassillies’ bodies have been released to their families for burial purposes.
