Two Aniak Snowmachiners Killed in Crash with Moose

Snowmachine

Over the weekend, a fatal snowmachine crash claimed the lives of two Aniak residents.

According to Alaska State Troopers, Saturday morning around 7am, Troopers were notified of two deceased individuals near the basketball courts off of Airport Boulevard in Aniak. The community’s physician’s assistant, health aide, and Aniak based Troopers responded to the report.

The group of responders found that 28-year-old Charles Lang, Jr., and 16-year-old Kayden Morgan were the two fatalities. Troopers say Charles and Kayden were riding on a snowmachine when they collided with a moose, causing them to be thrown from the vehicle.

According to Troopers, the two Aniak residents died as a result of the crash along with the moose. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident, and the investigation continues.
