City Employee Contracts, ADEC Loans on Nome City Council’s Agenda

Papers in Nome City Council chambers

Nome’s City Manager, Tom Moran, could be employed with the City for another one-year term, if a resolution is passed during tonight’s regular City Council meeting.

Regarding another City employee, City Clerk Bryant Hammond could also be approved to stay on for one more year, as well as receive a title change. If the Council passes two resolutions currently on the docket, Hammond would become City Treasurer and retain his duties as City Clerk.

Also on the agenda for tonight’s meeting are two resolutions to accept loans from the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) for the purposes of improving the City’s water and sewer infrastructure. Before adjourning the regular meeting, the Council could pass an ordinance permitting junk motor vehicles to only be stored in the Industrial District of Nome.

Tonight’s regular City Council meeting commences at 7pm immediately after the conclusion of a work session related to increased public inebriation in Nome.
