A Kotzebue resident was arrested over the weekend on an outstanding warrant for charges regarding the importation of alcohol.

Alaska State Troopers contacted 29-year-old Norma Berry in Kotzebue on Friday evening, June 23rd, once it was discovered Berry had an arrest warrant from a court case in Anchorage. Berry had been charged with one count of importation into a dry community and one count of selling alcohol without a license in a dry community. She then failed to appear for arraignment in that case earlier this year.

Berry was remanded to the Kotzebue Regional Jail. Her bail is set at $300.
