“YOURS FOR WESTERN ALASKA”

Farewell, Lucus!

Lucus

Summer is always a season both of hellos and goodbyes at KNOM, as we greet the next class of volunteers and bid farewell to those finishing their years of service.

Our last goodbye for this season is to our outgoing volunteer producer, Lucus Keppel, whose work at KNOM has been outstanding. On the air, Lucus has served as co-host of our weekday Morning Show, sharing the microphone with fellow volunteer Dayneé Rosales. Every day for the past year, thousands of rural Alaskans have woken up to the spirited, cheerful broadcasts spearheaded by Lucus and Dayneé, including an on-air series on nutrition and healthy eating that won a Communicator Award (as detailed in our August newsletter).

As one of KNOM’s producers, Lucus has kept a vibrant dedication to our mission in the hundreds of radio spots he’s written and produced – on subjects ranging from Christian spirituality and Bible stories to community service and wellness. He’s also been an active participant in the Nome Ministerial Association.

After leaving KNOM this month, Lucus will hit the ground running in his next service assignment: the stewardship of several church communities in New Mexico. We know you’ll join us in wishing Lucus good luck and God speed – and we thank you for making his service possible!
