David was born in New York City and grew up in Rahway, New Jersey; he graduated from Harvard University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in music.
He joined the KNOM team as a volunteer in 2006; he worked for two years as KNOM’s volunteer inspiration director (producing inspirational spots) and then served a third year as a joint music-and-production director, producing educational spots and expanding KNOM’s jazz library.
In August 2009, David joined KNOM’s permanent staff. As web director, he oversees KNOM’s online presence. He also helps write and edit the mission’s monthly newsletter, The Nome Static.
The lens through which David views the world is often, literally, a lens; he counts photography as one of his chief hobbies. When not snapping photos, he’s dabbling on the piano, reading, or listening to music: especially Yo La Tengo, Miles Davis, LCD Soundsystem, or Bach.
