“We just evaluated it (Rock Creek Mine) and decided that in the near term, the best move for Bering Straits was to reclaim the land and get the mine back to a stable environment,” Dan Graham said of BSNC and its subsidiary, Alaska Gold Company, which reclaimed the Rock Creek Mine site.
The 2016 dividend will be $3.50 a share. A special Elder dividend will give $500 to BSNC shareholders 65 years of age or older.
Dividends, board elections, and “Young Providers” awards are on the schedule for BSNC’s annual meeting, set for Saturday, Oct. 3, in Nome’s Mini Convention Center.
