“YOURS FOR WESTERN ALASKA”

(907) 443-5221

Although my grandparents are from Teller (Tweet), I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. I’m a proud UA student at the University Alaska Anchorage. I will be graduating in May, 2024 with a bachelors degree in Journalism and Public Communication and a minor in communications. At UAA, I’m the President of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) club. I have loved learning more about people and their culture through pursuing my journalism career. Through journalism, I’ve had the opportunity to experience things I wouldn’t get to otherwise.

I had the opportunity to visit Nome to report on the 2023 Iditarod, leading me to return as an intern over the summer. The experience helped me realize putting myself in uncomfortable situations is always worth the experience. Always!

Growing up, my grandmother always told me stories of Teller and Nome. She would tell me stories of her and my uncle listening to KNOM in the mornings. Having the opportunity to work for KNOM as my dad puts it, “is so full circle it’s crazy!”

When I’m not reporting, I’m either spending time with my two cats, Tank and Midnight, baking a key lime pie, or eating a carne asada taco.
