“YOURS FOR WESTERN ALASKA”

Lenten Presence

Ashes in a cup

Western Alaska’s gain of six minutes of sunlight each day is both literally and liturgically a season of darkness turning to light. Spring starts slowly in the sub-Arctic; risk factors of poor mental health and even suicide tend to be elevated in bush Alaska at this time of year.

KNOM is a resource for faith and Lenten preparation as we wait for spring thaw and sunshine. You spread the light and hope that come from Christ; magnified through the airwaves, they have a profound, daily impact on life throughout the region. You are remembered in prayer daily. Thank you.
