Greg Knight is the news reporter for KNOM Radio Mission — and he is glad to call Nome his home after many years in Southeast Alaska.

Prior to his work at KNOM Radio Mission, Greg was an award-winning reporter for KINY News of the North, in the Capital City of Juneau. While at KINY, he focused on covering the Alaska Legislature and state/local government, as well as sports throughout the region. Greg also spent a session working in the legislature as an aide in the House of Representatives.

He began his journalism career in 2007 at KRNV News 4 in Reno, Nevada, and transitioned his work to radio at KSUE AM in Susanville, California.

His prime mission in journalism, as he puts it, is to “tell the truth and help people.”

Greg is also an avid musician and recording engineer, having worked in the studio business before pursuing journalism as his life’s work.

When he is not behind a microphone or on assignment, Greg enjoys making music, beadwork, learning more about the indigenous cultures and languages of Alaska and exploring nature.
