Encountering Christ

In a region where Sunday Mass celebrations are rare, the weekly radio Mass, the evening Rosary and Divine Mercy prayers, and inspirational spots are programming cornerstones.

KNOM aims to be a friendly, helpful voice in listeners’ everyday lives. The underlying message says, “You are loved by God.” “You matter.” “You can accomplish your goals – and God is with you.”

Embracing Culture

KNOM creates programming that highlights the strength, depth, beauty, and history of Western Alaska.

Programs like “Elder Voices,” special features, Native music, and Native language and tradition spots are integral parts of the broadcast day – a reflection of community.

Empowering Growth

Transformation happens with an invested long-term presence that can empower growth: individually, in community, regionally, and statewide.

As a learning institution, many KNOM reporters and producers have gone on to be leaders in their fields. KNOM’s programming amplifies growth by sharing stories of hope, courage, and resiliency in Western Alaska.

Engaging the Listener

On the air, listeners serve as companions for the person announcing. Listeners can tune in for live events, submit hotline messages to friends and family, or call in with special song requests.

Current events, relevant programs and interviews, inspiring messages, weather and ocean updates, and upbeat tunes keep people tuning in.

KNOM’s Pledge to Benefactors

KNOM’s philosophy of stewardship is a core component of the mission and sets it apart from other charities.

The mission only exists today because of generous people who choose to participate in something far greater than what any one person could accomplish.

Unlike many non-profit organizations, we do not and will not sell, share, or exchange donors’ contact information with anyone else, including religious entities. We will never share your personal information with anyone else – for any reason.

If you choose to donate to KNOM, your private information remains just that – private.

You can read the full Pledge to Benefactors here.

PS: Are you getting too much mail? If you’ve received mail from us, we would be happy to take you off our list. And if you contact us, there may be other ways we can help.
