This Easter, the need for KNOM’s broadcasts is as great as ever. Thanks to you, listeners throughout Western Alaska will continue to have an outlet for worship, inspiration, education, news, and entertainment.
KNOM has covered the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race each year since its inception in 1973. The 2017 Iditarod was a red-letter year both for its competitors and for our mission and its listeners.
A blisteringly fast and frenzied snowmachine race captures the interest of Western Alaska listeners each March. Through your support, KNOM’s live radio broadcasts rally the region, enlivening the race for remote listeners cheering on loved ones.
Engineer Van Craft continues to provide invaluable help to our mission, especially with refinements to our brand-new digital studios.
In the past 50 years, not all of KNOM’s support volunteers have been reporters or broadcasters. In the mission’s early days, many volunteers were nurses and doctors.
