Alaska State Troopers are conducting a death investigation after receiving word that a young boy in Shaktoolik died over the weekend.

Early Saturday morning, slightly before 1am, Troopers were informed of the death of an 11-year-old boy. The child’s identity and personal information are not being released as he is a minor.

The State Medical Examiner in Anchorage will conduct an autopsy. Troopers say no foul play is suspected in the boy’s death, although the cause of death is unknown at this time.
