Elder Voices: Ida Beisemeier

Join Ida Beisemeier from Kotzebue on this week’s airing of Elder Voices from the KNOM archive. Born in Kotzebue, Ida was 75 years old at the time of the interview. Listen as she remembers subsisting with her family at camps during her youth.

Ida tells her story of how she left Kotzebue for California, and how she returned years later to teach a new generation the language and culture she had almost forgotten.

KNOM’s Elder Voices: a window to the past, a door to the future.
