“YOURS FOR WESTERN ALASKA”

#FocusWesternAK: Wales

Wales is a village on the western tip of the seward peninsula. It faces the Diomede Islands, which can be seen on a clear day, and features a unique geography, including the “Razorback” rock formations and an extensive beach.

KNOM’s Karen Trop traveled to Wales on the first day of the weekend-long Kingikmiut Dance Festival, from September 2-5, 2016. The following gallery shows some of the sights of this unique location.
