From left, Brother Normand Berger, FIC and
Brother Albert Heinrich, FIC were key members of the KNOM staff for many
years, arriving in Nome in 1975 from the Brothers of Christian Instruction
motherhouse in Alfred, Maine.
Brother Albert served as KNOM's news director until
moving from Nome in 1982. Brother Norm initially worked as production
director, then studied for and passed the First Class Radiotelephone license
test, and was KNOM's chief engineer until 1985, when he left to join the
African missions.
Tragically, Brother Norm was killed while piloting a mission
airplane in Zaire in 1989.
