The body of 48-year old Debbie Kimoktoak was found last Friday on the beach southwest of Unalakleet. Trooper Spokesperson Beth Ipsen says a Bering Air helicopter pilot reported spotting the body on the shoreline. Unalakleet State Troopers went out and recovered the body. Profile: Nome’s Community Garden
It’s harvest time at the community garden in Nome. The garden next to the Nome Food Bank is finishing up its first season. Despite the late start in July, founder Cheryl Thompson says community gardeners successfully sprouted broccoli, cabbage, mizuna, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, radishes, onions, swiss chard, turnips and peas.
