Today, the new KNOM Morning Show with Dayneé and Lucus made breakfast for Nome!

Numbers were few, but appetites were great!

Dayneé cooked scrambled eggs with mixed veggies, and it was a delicious meal to consume together. Megan and Katie from CAMP joined the morning show to give nutritional information, and let Lucus know that he needed to eat breakfast more frequently, as well as sleeping enough.

The fancy blue tablecloth shows how serious we are about this Breakfast Wednesday – and to make things better, we plan on continuing the trend next week, with Lucus cooking and Dayneé hosting! So, even if mornings make you sleepy, here’s to a great breakfast tradition continuing – and we’ll have coffee or tea no matter the weather.

We held a small party in honor of our great radio station this morning.

We bid farewell to the world’s last Pinta Island Tortoise, Lonesome George. Featured as part of our Endangered Species Spot Series, Lonesome George was the last remaining member of his subspecies, and with his passing yesterday, another one of the world’s animals is now extinct.

Although it is too late to save the Pinta Island Tortoise, there is still plenty you can do to ensure the survival of other threatened species in the world, including the tiger. WWF.org has recently launched a new campaign called Text for Tigers, which aims to double the world’s tiger population by the year 2022.

Eric Martsolf stars as Brady Black on Days of Our Lives.

Today, we were very excited to welcome Eric Martsolf to The Morning Show.  Eric has been an actor on Days of Our Lives since 2008 and has been acting on soap operas since 2002.

The Wednesday Weekly Dilemma messes with your head every Wednesday at 9:30.

I’ve received more feedback about the Wednesday Weekly Dilemma than any other segment on The Morning Show since I began hosting it.

Though I wish I could take full credit for the creation of this obnoxious 30 minutes, I cannot. Former Morning Show host, Leah Radde, created the idea, and together we made the segment what it is today. Upon Leah’s departure from the show in July, I invited Matthew along for the wild ride. Each week Matt and I take different sides to a new dilemma and discuss the topic to the point where we’re both so confused that we’re further away from an understanding of the topic than when we first began. The best part is, despite having the same birth name, Matt and I don’t have much in common, which leads to some interesting scenarios.

This week on WWD, Matt and I discussed two very different ways to greet someone. Do you give them a handshake or a hug? Matt decided to defend the handshake while I sided with all of the huggers of the world.

In this episode we have a surprise appearance from KNOM’s Outreach Coordinator Laura and take a phone call from KNOM Community DJ Joleen, who both side with yours truly as they defend the hug.

This morning I had the opportunity to chat with one of the band members. Dave Beeston, the group’s drummer called up The Morning Show from Germany and gave me the skinny on All Mankind.
