Transportation: It's as pricey as ever. Every few days, check www.alaska-air.com for web bargains. The current lowest round-trip fare from Anchorage is 21-day advance purchase, $372.00 plus taxes and airport fees. From Seattle, it's 14-day, $753.80, plus taxes and fees. Web fares can be less than half these, although they appear and disappear quickly.
Car rental: Stampede Car Rentals, 443-3838. This operates out of the Aurora Inn. They will deliver the car to the airport and have the keys waiting for you at the Alaska Airlines counter.
Lodging: All of
the following are okay:

on
Front Street. This resembles a clean, two-star hotel.

improved, right at the Iditarod finish line. 1-877-443-2323
