Welcome to KNOM Radio Mission’s Volunteer Blog. This is an area for our current volunteers to share about their experiences, working at a non-profit radio station in Nome, Alaska.
We just passed through the Christmas season, and are looking forward to this next portion of winter. As sunlight returns, race season picks up. We’ll be covering snow machine and dog mushing races across the state of Alaska. The highlight is always the epic Iditarod Trail sled dog race, which runs 1000 miles from Anchorage to finish here in Nome. Stay tuned for posts from KNOM Volunteers. They’ll surely have some stories to share!

Great job Laura! Very nice! Personalities come through!
A nice innovation, KNOM: it lets folks all around the world experience the radio mission from the volunteer-eye’s perspective… which is one of the most exciting angles available!
Thanks Paul and Florence! Stay tuned. There will be new posts twice a week!
