Obie Simonis has been in the Great Land for nearly two decades. Born and raised in Bend, Oregon – and a graduate of Bend High School – he’s lived in Alaska for 19 years and in Nome for 4 years.
He’s been involved with KNOM as a community DJ for much of his time in Nome. Obie hosts our Sunday-afternoon rock show, which is aptly titled The Obie Show; you can hear him every Sunday, 3-5pm.
When he’s not on the air or at work, you’ll often find Obie in the outdoors or spending time with his family. His interests include hunting, fishing, basketball and softball.
