Jeff Collins was born in Tucson, Arizona to Jeff Collins (Sr.) and Irene Cavazos.
He went to college at northern Idaho’s Lewis-Clark State College and graduated with a degree in elementary education.
Jeff has lived in Nome for six years; he says he loves the community and certainly stays active within it: he coaches cross country running at Nome-Beltz High School, teaches first grade at Nome Elementary, and instructs rock climbing at the Nome Recreation Center.
Even when he’s off the clock, you’ll often find Jeff outdoors: he says “I get my kicks in the mountains north of Nome, where I like to ski, snowboard, run, hike, fish, climb, and sleep.”
Jeff’s been a runner for nearly 17 years, and with all those miles under his feet, he says he’s listened to a lot of music. His deep musical interests are put to good use every week, during Jeff’s Monday Night Review.
